We Invented That! Highlights from the Invention Convention

On Saturday, May 19, Quest Academy students were among the 79 inventors who showcased their unique innovations at the Illinois Student Invention Convention in Chicago. The Invention Convention’s purpose is to educate, connect, and celebrate student innovators, and prepare children with the innovative skills needed to succeed in the future.

Quest Academy winners were:
Ahtziri D. – 1st place for 6th Grade
Portia D. – 3rd Place for 6th Grade
Zalph C. – 1st place for 7th Grade
Paige T. – 2nd place for 7th Grade
Arnav C. – 1st place for 8th Grade

A specialty award, the Molex Transformation Award, went to both Arnav C. and Portia D. This award honors the students whose projects best reflect the power of applying technology to improve lives.

Overall awards for all inventions in the state went to the following Quest Academy students:
Ahtziri D. – Grand prize top score
Arnav C. – 3rd place top score 

And congratulations to Paige T., who won a camp invention scholarship raffle prize.

Thirty-four of the state participants will represent Illinois at the Invention Convention U.S. Nationals next month, including the following Quest Academy students:

Ahtziri D.
Portia D.
Hania S.
Adelene T.
Paige T. 

Quest Academy did an amazing job in this year’s competition: 4,500 students participated regionally in the Invention Convention, and more than 200 students competed statewide.
