On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, Quest Academy seventh grader, Paige T., competed at the 14th Annual North Cook ISC Scripps Spelling Bee Regional Qualifier Competition, which was held at Lincoln Hall Middle School in Lincolnwood, Illinois. After several tricky rounds, including a particularly difficult vocabulary round, Paige persevered and placed second overall.
The top three finishers are moving on to represent North Cook County at the Regional Bee on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the E.F. Lindop School in Broadview, Illinois. The winner of the Regional Bee moves on to the National Spelling Bee, which will be held during Bee Week, which is Sunday, May 26, 2024, to Friday, May 31, 2024. The National Competition will begin with the Preliminaries on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, and conclude with the Finals on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
