Quest Student is a published author at 12!
At Quest Academy, we take pride in helping our students flourish in their passions for science, mathematics, the arts and literature.
When, as a 5th Grader, our student Shivani Ganeshan was inspired to construct a mystery story as part of a class project, we never dreamed that it would turn into a published work. But Shivani Ganeshan did it and she’s now an author, featured on Amazon and interviewed on TV, . . .at 12 years old!
Shivani’s creation began as a 15 week writing project with Quest Academy teacher, Mr. Darrell Maskell. When asked to create her own version of a childhood fantasy story like Harry Potter or The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Shivani’s imagination and passion took flight. Her passion and imagination didn’t stop when the course was over but kept burning for the next 18 months.
After daily copy revisions with Mr. Maskell, and with constant support from her parents, Shivani’s dream has become a reality and her story, Sign in the Smoke has been published and is featured on Amazon.
Sign in the Smoke is a story of a group of middle schoolers who suspect that their Science teacher is part of a plot to destroy the world. It’s up to the kids to band together to save the world. Once you start reading . . . you won’t be able to put it down.!
