Quest Safety Lockdown Drills
With our children’s safety as our utmost consideration, Quest Academy is required to conduct two “lockdown” drills in compliance with Illinois’ School Safety Drill Act (PA 102-0395).
The two drills will be conducted as follows:
- On September 27, 2024 we will conduct a pre-announced drill where faculty has discussed procedures in an age appropriate way and allowed for student questions.
- On October 23, 2024 we will conduct a final drill, under the observance of the Palatine Police Department.
For both lockdown drills, please note the following:
- Drill content will always be age and developmentally appropriate.
- Students will be allowed to ask questions during the drills.
- The drills will be announced to all Quest Academy personnel and students in advance.
- The drills will not include simulations that mimic an actual Lockdown event.
Parents may elect to exempt their child from participating in the Lockdown drills. If you elect exemption for your student, alternative essential safety instruction will be provided through less sensorial safety training methods. Please contact your child’s teacher directly to elect the exemption.
