Peanut/Tree Nut Policy Reminder

Quest Academy is committed to providing an environment that is “Tree Nut/Peanut Aware” and therefore as safe as possible for children with life-threatening Tree Nut/peanut allergies.

All food items brought to school for birthdays or parties with the intent to share among classmates must be store-bought and have an ingredient list. Students are highly encouraged to choose non-food items to distribute to classmates for birthdays.

Please note there are also some establishments that are considered high-risk for people with tree nut allergy due to the common use of nuts (reference Parent/Student Handbook on Quest Connect for a complete list).

Ingredient labels must not have tree nut or peanut references. Phrasing you should look for on the ingredient label include:

  • Contain(s) [peanuts] [tree nuts]
  • May contain [peanuts] [tree nuts]
  • May contain traces of [peanuts] [tree nuts]
  • Manufactured in a facility that uses [peanuts] [tree nuts] ingredients
  • Manufactured in a facility which processes [peanuts] [tree nuts]
  • Processed in a facility that uses [peanuts] [tree nuts]
