Quest Academy to continue Triple Attendance Policy, entering 2021-22

Quest Academy reaffirms its commitment to student/staff safety while offering maximum flexibility to Quest families in Fall 2021.

Building on the success of our successful COVID-19 reopening plan in the 2020-21 academic year, where there was not one documented case of in-school COVID-19 transmission, Quest Academy announces that families will continue to have multiple attendance options going into the 2021-22 academic year in accordance with CDC guidelines. Quest Academy K-8 families will have three options for attendance: In-School Attendance, Virtual Attendance and Flexible Attendance. These options will continue until the CDC states that alternatives to in-person school attendance are no longer necessary. As safety information evolves, Quest Academy will continue to revise safety guidelines as pertinent communication is received.

In accordance with guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the State of Illinois Department of Public Health, all instructional programs for Fall 2021 are designed to create a safe learning environment while continueing Quest’s mission for gifted learning.

➢ Preschool and Junior Kindergarten Hybrid Prairie School Model
This in-school model makes extended use of outdoor learning opportunities on the West Campus. At this time, Virtual Attendance and Flexible Attendance are not options for Preschool and Junior Kindergarten. In the event of a state mandated  school building closure, these age groups will join the entire school in a return to Distance Learning.

➢ Students in grades K-8 will have three options for schooling:
In-School Attendance
● All in-person students are required to abide by the COVID mitigation plan as detailed in the 2021/2022 Return to Learning COVID supplement.

Virtual Attendance
● Unvaccinated students who are in a high-risk category, or have unvaccinated family members in a high-risk category, have the option to attend classes virtually, until such time as vaccines become available.

Flexible Attendance
● Families opt for a combination of in-school attendance and virtual attendance. Parents will designate their child’s daily schedule, giving a minimum of 48 hours advance notice if changing the schedule for reasons other than illness. Requests for changes in attendance should be referred to the front desk ([email protected]) by email

In accordance with CDC guidelines, our current COVID-19 mitigation plan entering 2021-22 is as follows:

Masking
— Universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status
— No masking required outdoors, except for close contact sports

Physical distancing
— 3 foot distancing whenever possible
— No pods

Hand hygiene
— Taught and reinforced
— Sanitizer readily available

Contact Tracing
— As per CDC K-12 guidance, only individuals who have tested positive for the COVID virus, or its variants, will be required to quarantine
— Notification to all parents of cases with no personal identifying information

For parents seeking more information, the school may be reached by calling 847-202-8035 or emailing [email protected].
