Congratulations to Arnav C. for winning an impressive four awards at the ninth annual RJX Invention Convention U.S. Nationals on June 5-7, in Dearborn, Michigan.

Arnav placed first nationally in 8th grade, received an Industry Award for Health and Medical (presented by Danaher Foundation), was a Patent Application winner (presented by WilmerHale), and was awarded the coveted Best of Show Most Innovative Award (presented by RTX).

Arnav’s award, BlindSpace, is “is a revolutionary AI-powered device designed to empower blind and visually impaired individuals. With the simple press of a button on a walking stick, BlindSpace captures a photo of the surrounding environment and delivers a verbal description through an earpiece, providing just the right amount of information — no need to fumble with complex apps or touchscreens. This seamless hardware-software integration sets BlindSpace apart, allowing users to navigate unknown environments.”

The RJX Invention Convention welcomed more than 400 young inventors from across the country. During the two-day event, participants were also given the chance to pitch their inventions to a casting team from ABC’s Shark Tank show.
