Announcing Quest Academy Summer Parent Bookclub!
Quest Academy Parent Education summer series features a book club experience designed to engage the community in relevant conversation, exposure to new strategies, and reflection on ways we can all best support our bright learners.
Join Ms. Amanda Davey and Mrs. Kristy Arditti as we read and discuss Dr. Jeannine Jannot’s book The Disintegrating Student: Struggling but Smart and How to Turn it Around. Split into two sessions, participants will attend having read the designated chapters to engage in a facilitator-led discussion. The author, Dr. Jeannine Jannot will join us for one session to answer your questions and provide insights on related topics. Invite a friend – need not be a Quest parent to attend! Grab coffee on your way and/or make plans with others for lunch after to continue the conversation.
About the Book
“You know your child is bright. Until recently, school was fine–easy, even. Now, your son or daughter is struggling academically and emotionally. Falling grades, scattered work, assignments unfinished or not turned in, outbursts and upheaval…what is going on? The truth is that many smart students are reaching a point where they feel overwhelmed and stressed out. Effective and science-based, these tools address the specific challenges, including: organization, time management, stress, study habits, sleep, mindset, emotional well-being, and screens. Empowering and engaging, The Disintegrating Student will show you how to help your child embrace what’s going right, address what’s going wrong, and develop the skills needed for success in school and in life.” (excerpt from publisher) Childcare available for Quest students through the Summer Quest camp program.
